So, what are porcelain veneers?
You can think of veneers as a thin shell of porcelain or composite resin that is custom molded and designed to fit precisely over your teeth. These tiny shells are then glued to your teeth using a powerful dental cement. Your newly placed veneers mask any imperfections creating a flawless smile.

How do I care for my new porcelain veneers?
Once your veneers are placed, they are virtually maintenance free. You’ll simply need to follow your normal oral hygiene routine of regular twice-daily brushing and flossing.
How long will my veneers last?
Generally speaking, composite veneers will last 5-7 years, while porcelain veneers will last at least 10 to 15 years and often much longer. While incredibly durable, your new veneers are not indestructible and just like your normal teeth they will wear, chip or could become damaged and need replaced over time.

Now what is the process?
The process for veneers is very simple. During your initial visit, your dentist will do a comprehensive exam the help determine the health of your teeth and gums. This includes taking x-rays, photos, intra-oral video and other state-of-the-art diagnostics to help our team determine the best course of action to achieve results that will certainly exceed your expectations.
Next, the doctor will create a model of your teeth and (if necessary) send the veneers out to a lab to be created. This process can take up to a week or two. When your veneers are ready, we’ll have you back for one final visit to place them. This usually involves trimming about ½ millimeter from the tooth enamel and roughening the tooth surface to help improve adhesion between your veneer and tooth surface. Finally, an ultraviolet light is used to harden the cement quickly. That’s it. You’re done.
